Thank You Mr. Johnston for an Outstanding CAIS Winter Concert!

A big thank you to Mr. Johnston for an outstanding CAIS Winter Concert! Parents were full of praise, and many expressed how much they enjoyed the performance. The "Grandma's Chicken Soup" theme was both funny and creative, with students fully embracing their roles. Special thanks to our staff who stayed late to help, and to Mr. Lander for playing the piano. The soloists and narrators did a wonderful job, and Mrs. Nuhfer had a blast playing the role of Grandma!  It was a truly memorable evening!

5th Graders Become Sentence "doctors"

Fifth graders recently took part in a fun and interactive lesson where they became "sentence doctors," performing surgery on various sentences to practice identifying and fixing fragments, run-ons, and compound sentences. Armed with their "tools", students worked to determine which sentences were complete and which needed repairs.  Under the direction to Mrs. Wintemute, students also honed their skills in spotting sentence fragments that lacked a subject or predicate, as well as run-ons that combined too many ideas without the correct punctuation. By the end of the lesson, students had a clearer understanding of how to create strong, well-constructed sentences and confidently diagnose common sentence errors.

CAIS Celebrates Custodian Day: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Unsung Heroes!

CAIS celebrated Custodian's Day on October 2 to express their deepest gratitude to Bill, Denise, Travis, and Alex who work tirelessly to keep CAIS in tip-top shape. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but their impact on our learning environment is immeasurable.
Students took the initiative to show their appreciation in creative ways.  A special moment was captured when Mrs. Royo's and Mrs. West's students snuck in a photo with Bill and Denise. Your dedication is truly valued, and we can’t thank you enough for everything you do!

5th Grade Field Trip

The fifth graders had a spectacular time on their recent field trip to Darien Lake, an adventure-filled day that will be remembered for years to come. The roller coasters, with their exhilarating twists and turns, were a unanimous favorite, drawing screams of delight and excitement from the students. Equally popular was the log ride, where the splashes and laughter echoed throughout the park.  A great day was had by all!
