CAPS Celebrates the 100th Day of School

The 100th day of school is a fun and meaningful milestone, offering students a chance to reflect on their progress and celebrate their learning. Activities like counting to 100, creating 100-item collections, writing about 100 things, and dressing up as 100-year-olds engage students in creative and educational ways.  Whether through games, acts of kindness, or snacks, the 100th day is a celebration of hard work, growth, and the excitement of learning.

Snow Much Fun!

As part of CAP's Positive Behavior Support Plan, students who demonstrated hard work and positive choices were rewarded with a special day in the snow. They enjoyed an extended recess, playing in the winter wonderland, and warmed up with a cup of delicious hot chocolate. This fun and rewarding day not only celebrated their achievements but also reinforced the importance of making positive choices, showing that good behavior leads to great rewards and memorable experiences.

Second Graders Visit the Tom Ridge Environmental Center

Second-grade students from CAPS recently visited the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) in Erie, Pennsylvania, for a day of hands-on learning and fun. They explored interactive exhibits about wildlife and ecosystems, made nature crafts using materials like pinecones and leaves, and created bird feeders from peanut butter, birdseed, and toilet paper rolls. The activities helped the children connect with nature, learn about local wildlife, and understand the importance of conservation.

Second Graders Share Stories with Kindergarten Students

Second-grade students recently had the opportunity to share their stories with kindergarteners in a heartwarming event made possible by second-grade teachers Ms. Roche, Mrs. Brundage, and Mrs. Munn.  The second graders proudly read aloud to their younger peers, kindergarteners in Mrs. Mosher's class and Mrs. Newton's class.  They listened attentively and respectfully, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere.   Led by Mrs. Yatsko, this was a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community within the school and the positive impact of collaborative efforts between teachers and students.

National Honor Society Students Spread Holiday Cheer by Helping Kindergarteners Write Letters to Santa

Members of the National Honor Society (NHS) at Corry High School visited the kindergarten classes at Corry Primary to help the young students write their letters to Santa. The high school students worked closely with the kindergartners, guiding them as they expressed their holiday wishes and fostering a sense of excitement and joy. For the NHS members, the event was a meaningful opportunity to practice service, leadership, and kindness, while for the kindergartners, it was a memorable experience that connected them with older peers. The visit highlighted the magic of the season and reinforced the importance of giving back to the community.
