Second Grade Hatching Chicks: A Hands-On Science Adventure

In Mrs. Bayle's second grade class, hatching chicks is a fun and educational way to learn about life cycles and responsibility. Students observe fertilized eggs in an incubator, tracking changes and learning key science vocabulary. When the chicks hatch, it’s an exciting moment that brings science to life. Caring for the chicks afterward teaches students about animal needs and growth, making the experience both memorable and meaningful.

Kindergarten's Annual Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt

Kindergarteners lit up the gym this week during the annual Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt, where fun met learning in the most colorful way! Each glowing egg held a mini challenge—like identifying begging sounds, simple math problems, or reading sight words —that students solved as they searched. The event combined excitement, teamwork, and critical thinking, turning a traditional spring activity into an educational adventure.

Animal Movie Project for 1st and 2nd Graders

Miss Reed, the STEAM teacher at CAPS, recently led a creative enrichment project with first and second graders, guiding them in making their own animal-themed movies. Students chose animals to research, then used art, storytelling, and simple digital tools to bring their projects to life.  The project not only taught research and presentation, but also sparked excitement and pride in their learning.

Trooper Schick Joins Students for Lunch

Trooper Schick from the Pennsylvania State Police recently visited CAPS to have lunch with the students, fostering positive community relations. During the visit, she chatted with kids about their favorite foods, hobbies, and her role in keeping the community safe. The students enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and get to know Trooper Schick in a relaxed setting, helping to build trust and make her feel more approachable. This was a heartwarming reminder of the importance of strong connections between law enforcement and the community.
